the Kennedy Space Center – part one
In this photo essay, we offer pictures taken at the Kennedy Space Center in Florida. This was the first port of call on our photographer’s week long cruise in November, 2013. (Autumn weather in Florida is much milder than in New York.) I can remember (when a child) the summer of 1969, and the Apollo landing on the moon in July.
President Kennedy had a vision that America would get to the moon by the end of the 1960s.
Here are a few shots of the docking area before leaving the cruise ship to visit the space center.
Another view, closer in.
Some local industrial activity.
Now to the Space Center.
A tour group assembly area.
An informational sign.
Buildings from a distance.
A closer view.
Approaching an exhibit.
Recalling the days of the space shuttle program.
A replica of a rocket.
In part two, we will see more rockets and capsules. Perhaps, we will have saved the best images for last.
