early winter twilight

These images are of evening twilight on Christmas Day, 2015.  Driving west, with the San Francisco Bay and the hills of Marin County in the far distance, we captured this picture at 5:12 p.m. local time.

Several minutes later, on the approach to the Bay Bridge, we see this view.

The last hints of sunlight a minute later (on the bridge).

This structure is the new part of the bridge and lies between Oakland and Yerba Buena Island.

  1. It was raining cats and dogs here in Alabama on Christmas day. I know we got at least 3 and possibly 4 inches of rain! Temperature was in the 70’s.

    • Yes, there was some terrible and very damaging (even lethal) weather this holiday season in the South and the Midwest. Our prayers are with the folks having to rebuild from tornadoes and floods.
