The world that we live in today fosters this type of inauthenticity because we spend the entire day comparing ourselves to other people. We scroll through our Instagram feed… and we compare. We pick up a magazine…and we compare. We watch a television show… and we compare. We can even be comparing ourselves with someone we meet at the store. The comparing never seems to end. The more we compare, the more we try to change. We eventually reach a point where we don’t even know who WE are anymore, only who we wish that we were.
