State Flower

Never been to Kansas, but I like to eat sunflower seeds now and then. Sunflower oil is a good wholesome oil to use in cooking.

There was a book from the 17th century titled Heliotropium (translated as Sun Flower) that instructs us to be like the sun flower. As it turns to keep its face directed at the sun, we also should strive to keep our consciousness focused on God.

Farmer Days

The native wild sunflower is the official state flower of Kansas.

A field of sunflowers that were planted in June will be harvested when they turn brown and dry out.

I like the tall one.  It’s watching over everyone.

Heads are bowed.  Starting to dry out.

Native sunflowers can be seen in field and in roadside ditches.

These aren’t sunflowers, but they are yellow and SO pretty.
