zen in ceramic ware

Have you ever seen one or more Japanese paintings inspired by Zen?  In a department store on New Year’s Day, we came across what might be a Zen approach to enlivening or decorating ceramic ware.  These pen and/or pencil holders (could also be used for cigars) seem to be inspired by the Zen influenced art of the Far East.

Peering down , we now glance inside 2 of these artifacts.  It is rather interesting the effect the craftsmen (or machines) achieved in these pieces.  But, as with zen, we enjoy the present moment and move on without overthinking it.
