a visit to the Creation Evidence Museum – part two – some photos

Continuing now with our post on the Creation Evidence Museum near Glen Rose, Texas, we present some photos taken at the museum.

On the grounds, not far from the entrance, is this fossil cast (see explanation in next image).

This is the information plaque for the fossil pictured above.

Walking back towards both the parking lot and the museum entrance, we see this scene on a winter afternoon.

Man’s universal fascination with dinosaurs is hinted at here.

Inside the entrance now, we see this wall of truth.  (We were told when we paid our admission fees ($6 per adult) that taking pictures was allowed.)

The top most layer of this column of truth is seen in this next pic.

An interesting aphorism is read on this next plaque inside the museum.

It cannot be denied that it is possible that in the future additional fossils could be found that would tend to support the theory of evolution (by filling in some of the gaps in the fossil record), but the methodology of determining these fossils’ age(s) would still be open to debate as to its accuracy.  And, of course, there is still the assertion that one species gave rise to another through the process of “evolution” which is by no means certain.

The sign says that man did not evolve from an ape-like creature . . . or any other “lower life form”!!!

Lucy, the original, or earliest hominid?  A dissenting view here.

This is a premise or assumption worth pondering.

The most complex organ found in nature is the human brain.  As well, the mind (which for us, transcends the protoplasmic brain, and is the source of consciousness) is unique in the universe.

Read on.

These are some of the pics we took in the fossil section of the museum.

A stunning claim appears at the end of this posted text.

Note the human foot print appearing next to the fossilized dinosaur track.  Down the road a couple of miles from the museum is a state park that has such fossilized dinosaur tracks.

A stunning fossil here of a large fish eating a small fish.  As the words below say, “only rapid killing and rapid fossilization can explain that”.

Yes, if these fossils and fossil casts are genuine (authentic), then there is much significance to finding human foot prints and dinosaur foot prints or tracks in the same rock layers.

The middle toe or claw of the dinosaur appears to rest on the human foot print in this fossil.

Alleged human foot print next to a fossilized dinosaur track.

We could not make out the sandal print and did not get a good photo here.  Trilobites existed hundreds of millions of years ago and were on Earth for 75 or more millions of years, or at least that is what modern science tells us.  This is a bit of a stretch here to believe humans were around that far back.  But, the position of the museum and its founder and staff is that the geologic ages presented by scientists are wrong, and that the Earth is only several thousands of years old.

Various fossil foot prints seen here.  These are big foot prints.  Are these from a Big Foot type creature?

The fossilized foot print of a hominid type creature is seen here:

We only present the reality of the dilemma here.  It is for readers to decide for themselves what they choose to believe or not believe.  And, some may opine that these fossils and/or their casts are “fake”.

From the state of New Mexico, this next fossil is of a human or human like being’s foot print in stone from the Permian geologic age (250 million years ago).  Either man has been around on this planet for a very long time, or the extreme age assigned to geologic periods of the past is incorrect.  (Alternatively, the fossil is fake, or the claim of which rock layer it was found in is not true.)  It must be observed here that this “foot print” looks very stylized and not realistic.  It appears as an artistic representation of a foot print.  Note the rounded, even circular toe impressions (not realistic).

other artifacts

This artifact shows what appears to be a depiction of the dinosaur known as Triceratops on an Inca burial stone.

This is an intriguing fossil.  Can this be a hominid skull encased within rock?  Or perhaps, this is a carved skull that is encased in a spherical rock.

Other cultures, non-Western, knew of dinosaurs.

Here is the artifact referred to in the image above.

Hey, why not?  Everything goes better with the head (skull) of a mammoth or a mastodon mounted on the wall.

A model on exhibit showing the various rock layers of the region.

the ark of Noah and the flood

So, what was the “flood”?  A person can choose any of a number of possibilities here.  1. Accept the Biblical account in the OT in all its details.  2.  Accept the ancient aliens hypothesis or conjecture that the ark was a depository of the genetic material (DNA) of all living species (for both males and females of the respective species).  As well, even though they have not yet to my knowledge done so, the ancient alien theorists might suggest that the extraterrestrial aliens visiting the Earth long ago could have caused a worldwide deluge by weather modification with their advanced technology.  3. Consider that as the flood story occurs in various forms in many cultures across the globe and most of these versions predate the writing of the OT, the collective or racial memories of a flood could have been describing or referring to the rising sea levels and consequent flooding in various areas (notably southeast Asia, the Black Sea, and elsewhere) which did occur after the end of the last glaciation (ice age).

Sedimentary rocks are found all over the world and indicate that the rock layers were formed by the action of water and time.  These are on wonderful display in parts of Australia and Africa, but perhaps the most spectacular display of colored sedimentary rock layers, both limestones and sandstone, is found in the US Southwest, especially in its various national parks, state parks, and national monuments.  But, were these sedimentary rocks found around the world formed by a worldwide deluge, as in the flood of Noah?  Or, were these rocks formed by the geologic forces and the changing sea levels in the distant past?  (We refer readers to part one of this essay and the brief discussion on dating of ancient rocks, and the related links there.)

The museum has an interesting display on the “ark” and it shows much artistry and craftsmanship in the scale model of the Biblical Ark.

Dinosaurs on the Ark.  Male and female pairs.

Some large mammals on the Ark.

Food stuffs loaded on to the Ark.

There must have been some digging done in the area of Mt. Ararat in eastern Turkey.  We cannot say much about this.

Upon leaving the museum, visitors see this sign.
